Water Softening

Calcium and magnesium are cationic ions. They are found in water as solution, they are the main factors to detection of water hardness. It’s known that hard waters cause a lot of problems epecially on our health. Plants and factories make production with water be damaged because of hard water. In domestic usage hard water damages fittings, washing machines, dish washers very badly. Either industrial and domestic usages these problems are big loss for national economy.

Most effective way to solve these problems is ion exchange method. Sodium ion is applied in water instead of calcium and magnesium ions. Since therefore with cationic resin water softening is carried out. Tank material of water softening unit can be composed optionally or produced AISI 304-316 stainless steel. Automatisation of water softening unit can be collected under the 3 heading.

Timer control
As temporal period on desired day and at desired hour it carry out regeneration operation without interference automatically.
Volumetric control
It gauges the amount of passing water by a counter on equipment. At regeneration amount programmed or set before, it puts to unit regeneration process. Usage of these kind of control valves is more suitable on dublex (tandem) systems. Tandem systems are consist of 2 tanks. Usage of these kind of units is more common at industrial plants.
Control With Hardness Measurement
This water softening units are controlled with a panel. It measures hardness of water constantly and depending on programme set before it put the unit regeneration automatically
Regeneration of water softening units is made using salt. Waste of salt amount is nearly 0.2 kg for 1 liter resin. It is so usefull to regenerate with refined tablet salt so system does’nt damaged. Conductibility of water must’nt exceed limits that determined by resin producers. In project process this is the most significant thing.
